We got served
Erin and I have had a list of restaurants that we want to try out for a long time now; Erin just recently added dozens of restaurants to the list, all in the Twin Cities area.
She also had the good idea to blog about our experiences as we try out each restaurant on the list, so you can follow along if you’re interested in food in Minneapolis/St. Paul. We recently added our reviews of the 331 Club in NE Mpls, and Al’s Breakfast in Dinkytown near the U of M.

Hi Ben, please explain to me, what your back ground is to judge beer & food. I would lke to meet with you sometime soon. Off: 651-221-0899 Cell: 651-216-7550. All of (3)Brewer’s cave recipes are from Sig Plagens, Minnesota Brewering Co. I don’t like your remarks, especially, when you don’t know what you are talking about. Talk to me before you EVER, say anything about me and my Beer’s.
Wait your response

Frank, I’m not claiming to be a beer or food expert, but I know what I like and dislike.
I am assuming you are upset about my review of the Brewer’s Cave Golden Caramel Lager at brew52 (http://www.brew52.com/2008/week15/barfy/). Brew52 contains people’s opinions of the beers, and the site is for fun.
I don’t feel comfortable meeting with you, and I don’t really have anything to discuss. I hope you can understand. Thanks

Frank’s comment guarantees I will never drink anything from Blue Diamond Brewing. And I’ll have fun telling people why I won’t drink!

I thought the Brewer’s Cave was pretty good but I won’t be drinking anything from them after seeing this from Frank. Ben’s background to judge food and beer is the same as anyone’s. We are customers, the most important critics you can have. I congratulate Ben on an appropriate and well thought out response to Frank’s bitter comment.

Well, you can’t win them all. Ben, I invite you to go along with my wife & I when we do Tasting. Great comments, and we sell a lot of beer. I suppose I was a little abrupt, but, I do not apoligze. Ben, please tell me three of your favorite Beer’s, and why, It will give me a good idea where your coming from. Ben, the reason I wanted to meet with you, is to discuss beer, Get an idea what you know about beer! We all have different taste bud’s.
Thanks for your returned comments.

Frank, coming up with a list of my three favorite beers is tough - I like different beers on different occasions. I can tell you that I enjoy really hoppy beers like Bell’s Hopslam, and if I am buying beer for general consumption I prefer some variety of EPA or IPA (Summit EPA and Surly Furious are two favorites).
I was recently at the Muddy Pig and enjoyed several of their Belgians, although I don’t recall what they were, a friend of mine was making the selections.
Interestingly, I am reading the book “Land of Amber Waters” and noticed that you are mentioned by name as resurrecting the Brewers Cave brand in 2006. Best of luck to you with that.
